7 Signs You Might Benefit from Mindset Coaching

Updated: Apr 12

Stop for a moment and ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Do you ever feel like something is holding you back and you just can’t put your finger on what it is?

  2. Do you show up each day feeling like an imposter that will be found out at any given second?

  3. Do you want to live your life to your full potential?

If you said YES to one or all of the above questions, mindset coaching may be what you need. Image if you could read the same questions again in a few months and say NO because you are living the life you dream of each day.

So, what is mindset coaching?

Mindset coaching helps you explore what’s driving the beliefs, habits, and thought patterns that are holding you back from achieving your full potential. Our life experiences help us to develop values, attitudes, and perspectives that can both help and hurt us. Sometimes, probably most of the time, we do not even realize these are clouding our view and holding us back.

Mindset coaching offers you the opportunity to work with a supportive, open-minded person who helps you to increase your self-awareness, explore what drives your thinking and behaviors, and learn how to makeover your thought patterns and actions.

Mindset coaching might be right for you if…

  1. You feel stuck or unmotivated. Do you feel like you are in a pool of quicksand and the harder you struggle the less the situation changes? Feeling stuck in your personal or professional life makes getting out of bed each day a challenge. You struggle to find motivation, energy, and joy in your day. Mindset coaching can help you identify what’s holding you back and develop actions to get you moving forward to the life you want.

  2. You struggle with Imposter Syndrome or negative self-talk. Do you dread going into a meeting with your peers and supervisor because in the meeting you fear you oversold your abilities, and they are going to see you are completely incapable of delivering? When these types of thoughts start you find yourself criticizing yourself and doubting your capabilities. The spiral into negativity starts and drags you along. Mindset coaching can help you identify the start of these thoughts and guide you in the development of a more positive and empowering mindset, so you choose the direction of your mind instead of allowing it to become consumed with negative thoughts.

  3. You’re not achieving your goals. You can see, or at least have an idea, of what your ideal life would look like, if only…Instead of moving towards your ideal life you’re struggling to achieve your goals, understand what is blocking your success, and make progress. Mindset coaching can help you identify the limiting beliefs and negative thought patterns that are holding you back and support you in developing a roadmap to move towards your dreams, goals, and ideal life personally and professionally.

  4. You feel unfulfilled in your personal or professional life, or both. Do you feel like you are stuck in the movie Groundhog Day? Great move to watch if you have not seen it. Every day feels like the day before – nothing changes or fulfills you. If you are tired of living this way and are unsure how to break the cycle, mindset coaching can help. When you identify your values and priorities and develop a plan to create a more fulfilling life, you bring about the change you have been craving.

  5. You’re experiencing transition in your personal or professional life. Transition is hard. Whether it is in our career, relationships, or any part of life. Change can be good, but it is uncomfortable and can test us. Mindset coaching can help you navigate the change and develop a positive and empowering mindset to help you thrive through the change to make your life better.

  6. You’re experiencing stress or burnout. According to the American Psychological Association, in 2022 37% of adults surveyed rated their mental health as fair or poor. We constantly hear in the news how stress and burnout negatively affect our mental, physical, and emotional well-being and take a toll on all areas of our lives. If you’re experiencing stress or burnout, mindset coaching can help you develop strategies for managing your stress and maintaining a positive and healthy mindset through mindfulness, mental fitness, emotional intelligence, and positive intelligence.

  7. You’re ready to make a change, but don’t know where to start. You are ready to go. You’re standing at the starting line. You know your goals and can see your ideal life. They drop the rope for you start running and…Nothing. You have no idea where to start or how to get there. If you’re feeling ready to make a change in your life and aren’t sure where to begin, mindset coaching can help you clarify your goals, develop a plan to achieving them, and establish accountability to keep you moving forward.

If you are experiencing any or all of these signs, mindset coaching can be a powerful tool for overcoming beliefs, habits, and thought patterns that are holding you back from developing a more positive and empowering mindset. By working with a mindset coach, you can develop the skills and strategies you need to achieve your goals and create a more fulfilling life.

Ok, this is me. Now what?

Great question! I have asked the same question in the past when I was where you are. Here are few suggestions to get you up moving and living the life you want:

  1. Take a moment and look at the seven signs above and ask yourself which one(s) really jumps out at you and see if the reason why bubbles up.

  2. Ask yourself the hard question, Do I REALLY want to do something about this or am I good for now? Listen inside for the answer. You may need to let this simmer for awhile or you make get an immediate answer. If you are good for now, you stop reading and head on about life. If your heart and brain are telling you “We can’t do this anymore” read on.

  3. Decide on your next step. You can:

  4. Search Google for an answer and guidance to help. (This was my go-to, so no judgement here.)

  5. Get one (or several) self-help books, start reading, and try to put them into action. (Again, also a go-to.)

  6. Find a mindset coach and get to work on living to your fullest potential.

  7. Call a friend, complain about how you feel, and go back to how you are living.

  8. Get Started! No matter which one you picked above, it is important that you made a decision and now you need to take action. You can always revisit your choice or make a different one but get started. That is what’s important!
